The Watt Club – since 1854

Founded in 1854, The Watt Club is the oldest alumni association in the UK. Lifetime membership is automatic upon graduation from Heriot-Watt, and is free to all graduates of the University.

However, we’re not just for graduates.

We see our current and prospective students as “Alumni in Training”, and as such encourage their participation in our events. We have access to a wealth of knowledge from our graduates – from Petroleum Engineering to Translation; Marine Science to Brewing & Distilling, all of who are willing and able to help students on their career path through advice or training.

Our graduate family is welcoming and close, and the success of a Heriot-Watt graduate is never far from the news. This blog aims to capture and promote these stories, further emphasizing that as a worldwide university with campuses in Edinburgh, the Scottish Borders, Orkney, Dubai and Malaysia, Heriot-Watt’s range of career-focused courses deliver results and produce some of the best paid graduates from any higher institution.
